Meeting with Gadsby

I had my meeting with Gadsby on Wednesday 3, and during that meeting we discussed my resume and the importance of a strong cover letter when applying for jobs or interns. We actually went over my most recent resume and discussed the strengths and weaknesses of the design and the overall aesthetic of the layout. After reviewing my resume, she gave me a lot of links and portals to job listings for animation entry level jobs. She also sent through to me in an email and list of jobs here in memphis that I could apply for. She said once I redesigned my resume she wanted to look at it. About the cover letter she said that the cover letter should be directly aimed toward the job, using some of the same words posted in the listing to increase it's effectiveness.

Here are some of the portals and information that she was kind enough to share with me.

StoryBoard of New Project

Read the panels from left to right then move to the row under and repeat.

This is an attempt to show what the transition into Caden's head will look like.

These are the redone room master shots. I plan to do a lot of close ups so I'll be zooming into these two views for the tighter shots.

NEW PROPOSAL

The narrative is about Caden, a clean freak, who has a brother that is not. The outline of the story is:
Caden is seen cleaning his bedroom and he just finished.

The shot then switches to the room being dirty again and Dominic is in the room listening to his CD player.

Caden stares down Dominic and starts cleaning the room again. Caden begins to be bothered.

The shot then fades to black and when the shot opens again, Caden walks in the room as Dominic is dirtying up the room. I plan to use my original script where Caden confronts Dominic about his uncleaniness. However instead of the actual fight that happens when Dominic pushes Caden on the ground, I want to use that time to go inside Cadens head as to what he wants to do to Dominic at that point in time.
What happens in the head?
A collage of these various actions.

Caden is screaming at Dominic with a transition to his heart beating faster than normal. The shot comes out for a medium shot of Dominic being punched in the mouth. Red lights start flashing that transitions back to the heart now beating on a drum. The next shot shows Caden's eyes turn red where he grows into a hulkish figure in which he bigger than Dominic and he smashes Dominic into the ground.

-Caden screaming at Dominic wildly
-Caden turns into a hulkish character where he pounds Dominic into ground.
-There is a heart beating on a set of drums wildly.
-Dominic is seen with mouth being punched in.
-Dominic shrinking to a small bug size being stepped on.
-Red lights flashing
-Boiling water

After the collage of Chaotic events in Caden's head I zoom out of the space where we see Dominic drop another thing on the floor. During this opportunity for Caden to do something he doesn't.

Work Due

This is my master shot of the bedroom.

I have completed my audio mix. The file however is too large to put on blogger, but I have it to present in class. It's still low in volume, but Meredith did say it is something that I can work with. Over the weekend I worked on the environment for Scene three to take place in. Over the weekend I thought of ways of how I could shorten up my big piece to make it more feasible to do throughout the remaining time I have here. So, what I came up with was that I really play up scene three and scene 4 and make it more intense and more involved then I had originally planned. Make it a structure of 3 where my character cleans the room and the room gets dirty three times because of Dominic and on the third time he explodes in a rage at his brother using the original script that I have already. In scene for Caden goes in his mind and thinks of scenarios and I think I could make this piece about the psychological aspect of what happens in our heads verses what we actually do with our actions.
